Guardian Maritime Defense provides risk mitigation services to ship owners, ship managers and charterers for all types of vessels transiting through the High Risk Area (HRA) within the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea.

The scope of work is as follows:

Transit Risk Assessment

Detailed risk and intelligence assessment provided for guidance and planning purposes

Embarked Security Teams

Armed guards and unarmed consultants with fully owned and licensed firearms and security related equipment

Vessel Hardening

Ensure vessel hardening measures are adequate and implemented before entering HRA

Crew Training

On board security training for the Master and the crew

Operational & Legal Support

24/7 incident and emergency management, vessel tracking, intelligence reporting and updates, routing advisory and legal support

Post Transit Report

Provide a post-operation report after completion of the transit, highlighting significant issues

OPERATIONS CENTRE

The Control Room operators continuously monitor various risk intelligence information sources and insures that up to date and accurate information is relayed to our customers and Team Leaders with guidance for the safest route passage through dangerous waters.

COUNTER PIRACY RIDING CREW

GMD only employs South African citizens who are registered under PSIRA of South Africa and, who holds the necessary security grading required to act as security guards. Each employee goes through an administrative process in order to prove they are fit to serve as a security team member.
